Copycat Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Everyone loves the biscuits at Red Lobster. In fact, that is the only thing that I really go there for. I am not a huge fan of the food, so why not make the biscuits at home? Especially when you see how easy they are to make!

Ingredients:

2.5 c. Heart Smart Bisquick
4 Tbs. cold butter
1 1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
3/4 c. milk, 1%
1/4 tsp. garlic powder

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. In a medium size bowl, combine the Bisquick and butter with a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add in the cheddar cheese, milk and garlic powder (I used my hands). Mix until combined, but do not over mix. Using a cookie batter scoop, drop the batter by heaping tablespoons onto an ungreased baking sheet (makes 12). Bake for 13-15 minutes.

While the biscuits are baking, microwave and melt 2 Tbs. of butter. Stir in about 1 - 1.5 teaspoon of garlic salt (the brand I use already has parsley flakes in it!). When the biscuits come out of the oven, brush the tops of each biscuit with the butter mixture with a pastry brush. Transfer to a baking sheet until slightly cool. Then serve warm or let cool fully and store in an airtight container.
