Quick French Onion Soup
Ingredients:
5 onions, thinly sliced
1 Tbs. olive oil
1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
32 oz. container beef broth
3 garlic cloves, minced
Caramelize the onions in a large pan with 1 Tbs. olive oil. Cook the onions for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are slightly caramelized. Add all of the above ingredients to a dutch oven, or a large pot. Heat on medium heat for 1 hour, until the onions are soft. To finish the soup, add 1/2-3/4 c. cubed bread of your choice, and top with cheese. I used shredded Asiago.
