Peanut Butter Banana Pupcakes

A few weeks ago my dog-ter celebrated her 6th birthday! Since I don't have any kids of my own yet, my dog is pretty much my daughter. She acts just like a little kid, needs my constant attention, and has her bratty moments, but I still love the heck out of her. Happy birthday Tala bear!

Ingredients:

1/2 c. peanut butter (creamy or chunky)
1/2 c. vegetable oil
2 bananas, mashed
1/2 c. honey
2 eggs
2 c. whole wheat flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
4 oz. cream cheese (1/3 less fat), softened
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 Tbs. milk
*Optional, bone sprinkles

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a cupcake tin (I used 1 12-count and 1 6-count) with liners. In a large bowl, combine the peanut butter, oil, banana, honey and eggs together until smooth. Slowly add in the baking soda and powder, and the flour until everything is mixed well. Divide among the cups, filling 2/3 of the way full. Bake for 18-20 minutes until the edges are golden brown. Let cool.

Combine the cream cheese, peanut butter and milk together with an electric mixer. When the cupcakes are cool, pipe or spread the frosting on top and decorate with sprinkles!

Peanut Butter Banana Doggy Cake

My stinkin-cute "doghter" just turned 5!! Dogs grow up so fast (I'm assuming like children, but I don't have any kids yet so I would know). I remember when we brought her home and went through the potty training stage and the look on her face when we ran her in front of the four wheeler for the first time. She literally brings pure happiness into my life.  For her birthday since we didn't have time to throw her a party like last year, I still wanted to do something special. She LOVES peanut butter, and I had some old bananas sitting out, so what the heck! Peanut Butter Banana Cake it is!

Ingredients:

3/4 c. whole wheat flour
1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. peanut butter, smooth
1/4 c. vegetable oil
1 large banana, peeled and smashed
1/3 c. honey
1 egg

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 7 or 8" springform pan with non stick cooking spray. Mix the above ingredients in a bowl together. Pour into the prepared pan and smooth out. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the center is fully cooked. Let cool first before slicing and giving to your pup! I topped her piece with a dollup of fat free Redi Whip!

Peanut Butter Cheerio Treats

(the second treat, shown in the middle above)

Ingredients:

2/3 c. peanut butter, whipped

2 1/2 c. honey nut cheerios

1 c. whole wheat flour

1/2 c. vegetable oil

1 Tbs. honey

2 eggs

Melt the peanut butter in the microwave (about 25 seconds or less). Combine all of the ingredients together in a large bowl, and fold together gently so that you do not crush the cheerios. Use about 1 1/2 tablespoons and firmly press into a ball shape. Place on a parchment lined cookie sheet (these do not grow, so you can put them close together). Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Let cool fully before trying to store. You want these dry and crispy.

Peanut Butter Oat Treats

Ingredients:

1/2 c. vanilla, unsweetened soy milk

1 c. whipped peanut butter

3 c. rolled oats

Mix well in an electric mixer on medium speed. Using your hands, roll about a tablespoon of the mixture into a ball. Repeat until the mix is gone. Refrigerate before serving to your pups!

Banana Doggy Ice Cream

Ingredients:

3 ripe bananas, mashed
32 oz. plain low fat yogurt
2 Tbs. wildflower honey

Mix the ingredients together. Divide into freezer safe bowls or containers and let freeze for a few hours until set. Take out a few minutes before giving to your dog so that the sides are soft enough for them to get to.

My Tala loved her banana ice cream for her birthday! I had to squeeze the sides to loosen it up before she would eat it but all of the dogs at her birthday party enjoyed them. A nice cool refreshing dessert on a hot day!

Toilet Water (Blue Punch)

Ingredients:

Blue (Mixed Berry) Kool - Aid
2 (2 liter) bottles Sprite Zero (sugar free white pop)
Cool Whip (I used sugar free)

Mix the Sprite Zero and the blue Kool - Aid mix in a punch bowl until mixed well. Dollop the top with Cool Whip.

*This can be done in every flavor Kool-Aid with the Sprite. This was a really cute idea for my dog's 4th birthday party! Pets are kids too :-)

Peanut Butter Pupcakes

Our dogs need some love on their birthday's too!

Ingredients:

1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. peanut butter, creamy
1/4 c. vegetable oil
1 large shredded carrot
1/3 c. honey
1 egg

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 6 cups on a muffin tin with non stick cooking spray. Mix the flour and baking soda together in a large bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and mix until well combined. Divide into the six muffin tins. Bake for about 20 minutes, until the middle is fully cooked through. Let cool on a wire rack while you are making the frosting.


Frosting:

8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 Tbs. cinnamon
1 tsp. honey

In an electric mixer, beat the above ingredients until everything is combined well. Spread on top of the Pupcakes. I decorated the tops with sliced Pupperoni pieces and made it into the shape of a bone!
